Low-tack painter’s tape and a Sharpie marker to label containers headed for the fridge, freezer, or pantry. The tape is easy to write on, sticky enough to stay, and simple to remove. I keep painter’s tape and a marker handy in the same kitchen drawer as my rolls of foil, plastic wrap, and resealable bags.

Off Duty is a mix of everything good: recipes, decorating tips, stories on wine, travelogues, a car reviewer who quotes Bon Jovi lyrics, and gear recommendations of all types. I have no use for the fashion tips, but they do offer a window on a strange world.
