My cat Bo’s Clevercat Top Entry litter box. It hasn’t exactly kept the dogs from treating his litter box like a Whitman’s Sampler, but it has helped. The high sides and lid contain more of the litter that Bo used to kick out onto the laundry room floor, at least.

The tenacity of a young girl peddling scented candles door-to-door in my neighborhood, trying to raise money for a local youth camp. I always buy from kids no matter what the product, but I have a few aversions. One of them is to candles scented with food smells. I told the girl after listening to her sales pitch that I’d be happy to buy a candle, so long as she had one that didn’t smell like food. How was I supposed to know that was the only kind she had in her bag? I sniffed and rejected five before I ended up with “pearberry,” which isn’t … terrible. That young girl, however, will be CEO of a Fortune 500 company someday.
